A celebrated Oolong tea from Taiwan, harvested from a single-bud, two-top leaves, cultivar. These top leaves are picked to become this striking tea, just as beautiful as it’s named. Jacobiasca formosana, a type of tea cicada, is used to enable the leaves to secrete an organic honey scent purposely. The white-tipped leaves are carefully controlled in oxidation to elicit iconic notes of fruit sweetness and a bright golden infusion with muscatel and floral notes. The taste is mellow, and soft with a sweet honey aftertaste.
Current Harvest – Taiwan’s drier seasons surprisingly see Oriental Beauty carry plum notes in substitute for the sweet honey scent. The liquor, when brewed, is of a tantalising golden bronze.
